Kathy worked with us for about a year before we found out lake house. We knew pretty much what we were looking for, but needed to explore areas. We started out in 2018. Kathy sent us listings of houses in various lakes in southeast Michigan, as well as, many trips out to see areas and examples of what was out there. Kathy spent a lot of time with us. After many months and slowing down house hunting process to “winter over”, we started looking in earnest again in early spring of 2019. First, she found us what we thought was the perfect lake house, but the deal fell through because of a fickle seller and no fault of her own. She persevered and actually found us a better place on a large lake and a house/cabin that worked great for our family. Kathy has the needs of her clients as her utmost interest. Well Versed in Unique Requirements of Co-Op Sales
I first contacted Kathy Young in late November of 2018 when I decided to sell a property I owned with my sister in Brighton Michigan. My sister had passed away in August of 2017. I had been working contract jobs in Florida off and on for several years then a job in Florida turned into permanent position. The property my sister and I owned was a co-op unit – like a condo but with a different ownership structure. There were several unique requirements related to the sale of a co-op unit that I was completely ignorant of. Fortunately for me Kathy was well versed in the sale of this type of property. Working in Florida made it a challenge for prepping the unit for sale as I was not there in person to coordinate the work of the contractors I used to get the unit in top condition. Kathy located qualified reputable contractors for me and worked as my local point of contact in coordinating/supervising the work. All the work performed was very professionally done with one exception. The company that was hired to deep-clean the kitchen and bath areas of the home did substandard work. Kathy stopped in to look at the work that was done and immediately contacted me to let me know she was unsatisfied with the job done. At that time I was coming home to Michigan for the Christmas holiday and to finalize the efforts to get the property on the market. I was shocked when I arrived home to have Kathy stop in at my unit with her own cleaning supplies to redo the kitchen and bath areas. When she had finished scrubbing everything looked great – talk about above and beyond the call of duty. Kathy was a pleasure to work with during the entire process of prepping and selling my co-op unit and I will gladly check back with her when I return to Michigan to look for a summer home when I retire in a couple of years.
